Don't just take our word for it. You can now check for this pollution yourself! This special meter can be plugged into your electrical outlets to determine the levels of EMF high frequency pollution at home or office both. The meter works equally well on standard North American outlets (2-prong, 3-prong) and GFI outlets. It can also be used with surge suppressors, extension cords, or power strips. The readout gives an indication of how much high frequency noise is in the wiring at the outlet where the meter is located. Extremely easy to use and reliable. Re-usable. Can be used on 50/60 Hz, 110-230 V systems. Has North American Style Plug but can be used with socket adapters for other countries.
If high readings are found, optional plug-in filters are available which will remove these potentially harmful signals from the wiring. Contact seller for details.

I bought the meter; my home was around the 80 to 90 mark, which is not that high. I installed some filters which brought it down to 20/25 units. The manufacturers suggest that below 50 is safe, professor Magda Havas says it needs to be below 40.
This is not something you buy and then put away in a drawer and forget about.
The key is to use the meter regularly because anything electrical (particularly dimmer switches, flat screen TVs ) can cause pollution. Being as we are forever buying new appliances, and your neighbors are too the readings will vary over time. I recently found a shower light that was giving me a reading of over 600 GS units because of a faulty transformer on a halogen light. I had the transformer replaced and my readings came back to normal.
What I found was amazing. And I was able to make some decisions that didn't involve actual filters in my first "phase" of remediation.
A few things I did already was replace all the spiral compact fluorescent light bulbs with LED. So that the ballast wouldn't be a factor. I also had replaced all dimmer switches with straight flip-switches. If you hold your head next to a dimmer, you will hear it humming.
What the meter showed me was that every computer in my house was producing at LEAST 400 GS units (9600 volts per second). One computer I own, an HP Compaq slim form-factor produces 1800 GS units (43,200 volts per second). This one computer, when on, was ALSO causing 1800 GS units to show up in the master bedroom. I was confused at first because they are on separate circuits. Some investigation revealed that the two circuits had romex that was stapled in parallel under the first floor joists.
It was at this moment that I started shutting computers off more often and especially at night. I started sleeping better right away. I don't usually remember my dreams and I was diagnosed with central sleep apnea (a neurological cause for breathing to stop in the middle of the night).Read more ›
Finding a problem and knowing what to do about it, however, are entirely different things. For example, sprinkling dirty electricity filters throughout my home does not appeal to me. It is an expensive and potentially unhealthy solution, too.
Dirty electricity is a controversial topic no doubt, with a healthy dose (no pun intended) of confusion thrown in. It has sent me on a course of study that is still under-way.
The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars? It's a solid meter and could prove to be one of the best purchases I ever made, however, it lacks anything more than basic information on its use.
When I began installing filters it positively showed the reduction in dirty house current.
I am feeling better & sleeping better, I am planning to add more filters to try to get all rooms of the house below a reading of "50".
