Editorial Reviews

Review

The Grain Elevator is a quintessential American monument. Mahar-Keplinger's crips yet haunting photographs are works of art, and her text reminds us that the American equivalent of the Gothic cathedral or the Egyptian pyramid is more than just a subject beloved by artists...[It is] a good introduction to the development of the American silo and is about silos as objects of beauty. William Morgan, University of Louisville

Anyone who's ever seen the immense grain elevators scattered like cathedrals across the American landscape will be enchanted with this modest, beautifully-designed and illustrated book. Travel Books Worldwide

This review is from: Grain Elevators (Paperback)
This is one of the best books that I have read about the American Grain elevator, after doing a lot of research on the topic. The book is a wealth of information on a subject that is not widely published.
