Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Brown's emphasis on the medical benefits of the vegetarian diet in terms of weight control, disease prevention, and prolongation of life offers a fresh approach to a popular subject. Using a question-and-answer format, she provides detailed explanations for the biological and chemical effects of foods on the human body, an understanding of how vegetarianism reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer, a comparison of eating habits of people from all over the world, tips on diet for children, techniques for the balance of vitamin and mineral intake on a meatless diet, and a listing of recipes for cooking with grains and beans. For libraries where demand for the subject warrants purchase.
