Percy Grainger was a man of spectacular gifts. He was one of the most original composer/arrangers in the early part of this century. He was also a spectacular pianist in an age of spectacular pianists. This amazing CD documents Grainger's formidible gifts. It cannot be over-praised. Both the music and the performances are well worthy of any piano lover's attention. Don't miss this one!

Percy Grainger, himself, playing his works (via the fortuitous piano roll). Very nice! He is a pianist of staggering attributes with solid fluent technique.

These pieces are, simply, "wonderful" and this discovery was a great one. The entire album is noteworthy, particularly for his playing of the lovely "Ramble on the Last Love-Duet from Der Rosenkavalier".....what a beautiful piece!

I highly recommend this beautiful album to anyone who loves piano....it's just wonderful....magic, in fact!

His music was original, while taking bits and pieces from traditional tunes. He really does not get the credit he deserves! I never imagined he meant for some of his songs to be played the way he played them.

This album presents the piano roll recordings of Percy Grainger. It is an important document in the history of ethnomusicology. Having said that, it is guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of any music lovers.

I found this to be a rather boring group of Grainer arrangements. This is what happens when you don't listen to a CD sample before purchasing it.
