5.0 out of 5 stars There is no F in brilliant, January 7, 2003
This review is from: Gramma Knows the F word (Paperback)
Written with the style and authenticity of a self-help guide, this book really flies in the face of the genre. Ted does it beautifully with simple yet accurate descriptions of what does and doesn't add up to fun.

Through cartoons and wise words, Ted provides a dot-to-dot (paint-by-numbers) on how to get some serious fun back into your life. Try out a few and get rid of mind pooh - that's my mantra from now on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should Be Required Reading, April 3, 2007
This review is from: Gramma Knows the F word (Paperback)
This book was so inspiring. I read it and I passed it on. I wish that it was required reading for every adult. There are so many people out there who are afraid to have fun because someone might laugh at them. That is sad. This book will remind you that it is okay to lighten up and do the things you want to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gramma Knows the F word showed me the way to have fun again., September 16, 2003
This review is from: Gramma Knows the F word (Paperback)
After having read Mr. Shredd's first book "The Cycling adventures of Coconut Head", I was really looking forward to the new book. I wasn't dissapointed, Mr. Shredd has been able to break down the barriers that seem to grow with us as we get older. "Gramma Knows the F Word" helped me rethink my situation and question whether I had the right outlook on life or not.
It helped bring out the kid in me with simple words of wisdom, and hilarious cartoons. I would highly recommend Gramma Knows the F Word, and that's why I gave it a five out of five.

5.0 out of 5 stars On My All Time Favourite Book List, September 12, 2003

This review is from: Gramma Knows the F word (Paperback)
Gramma Knows the F-Word is the BEST BOOK YOU'LL READ EVER!!! This book is an easy feel-good read. You can hear Mr. Schredd willing you to have fun and have a more easy-going, stress-free life. The book is based on a letter the author's Gramma Schredd gave him at the beginning of his life-changing bike ride across North America in the early 90's. In this system of "Me, me, ME!" and "Whoever dies with the most toys, WINS!", it is refreshing to read a book the urges you to have fun, be silly, be kind, and don't be so concerned with what you have but rather, who you are. The book is filled with fun-loving cartoons made by the author and thought-provoking captions and quotes. It's a book that will tweak your brain, making you think AND release endorphins because you'll be laughing so much. It's officially on my All Time Favourite Book List!

This review is from: Gramma Knows the F word (Paperback)
I usually avoid reading self-help books because those are boring, serious, and most of all, makes you feel guilty. They try to tell you why you are wrong and why the author is right. I don't like the tone of such books. Although Ted calls this book a self-help book on having fun, I did not feel I was reading a self-help book. I was excited. It was like reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull fourteen years ago!
