5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyable and effective
This is really an enjoyable book with a lot of games to review language structures. It contains different versions of well-known games that are adapted to practice grammar, such as bingo, backgammon, rummy, checkers, and other original board and card games that students really enjoy. 3.0 out of 5 stars Worth buying it!
I'm familiar with Cambridge oriented books. This is one of them. It is useful for an English teacher who looks for grammar activites with fun based on the grammatical structures. The book looks like a photocopiable material book. It is not colorful inside. It is just black and white. Anyway, I use it to prevent boredom in class while teaching grammar.I definitely suggest...

This review is from: The Grammar Activity Book: A Resource Book of Grammar Games for Young Students (Cambridge Copy Collection) (Spiral-bound)
This is really an enjoyable book with a lot of games to review language structures. It contains different versions of well-known games that are adapted to practice grammar, such as bingo, backgammon, rummy, checkers, and other original board and card games that students really enjoy. It contains practice for different levels of students. You can find from the basic tenses like present simple, past simple, frequency adverbs, etc to the most complex structures like reported speech, passive voice, etc. Though not suitable for true beginner students, this book can't be missed if you teach pre-intermediate to advanced students. Although it says it is intended for young students, games are suitable for all ages (except young children).

4.0 out of 5 stars The Grammar Activity Book, November 10, 2000

This review is from: The Grammar Activity Book: A Resource Book of Grammar Games for Young Students (Cambridge Copy Collection) (Spiral-bound)
This book is a wonderful resource for the ESL teacher. The cover says, "...for young students" but my class of adults has enjoyed the varied activities. All games are explained fully, including time needed for preparation and the amount of time needed to play. All the materials are photocopiable - what a time saver! It's the best book of its kind that I have found.

I own many of the photocopiable activity books and this is probably the most user friendly and creative I have seen - I use it with my ESL students ages 18-60, although it would be good for younger students as well. Highly recommended if you are a materials designer or teacher
