3.0 out of 5 stars Might As Well Be A Rip Off Of A "Now" Cd, January 24, 2004
By
This review is from: Grammy Nominees 2004 (Audio CD)
There basicly is little difference between this and the last on eor two insatllments of the "Now" series. The Grammy nominations were horribly unjust this year. I'm a big pop fan so I don't mind pop artists taking big noms, but the industry picked the most overplayed and overhyped stars in the buisness this year. Beyonce and Justin have become nauseating over the last year and their music has become the same. The Black Eyed Peas get a hot pop star to sing the hook of an otherwise yawn-worthy song and *BOOM!* it's a hit and has Grammy noms. 50 cent???? Pulease! So what are the good tracks? Coldplay's "Clocks" is awesome as is Christina's "Beautiful" and Avril's "I'm With You." Luther Vandross and matchbox 20 are also very worthy. And i'm not a fan of rap, but Missy's "Work It" is a classic and worth a Grammy.

Basicly, go buy Now 14 and you'll get the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music Fan, February 9, 2004
By
This review is from: Grammy Nominees 2004 (Audio CD)
I am amazed at others whose words are are so caustic just because they personally don't care for the music. This is a fine collection covering a nice variety of musical styles, that is not easy to do in a year with so many great songs to choose from. I also would like to have seen "Hey Ya" on this CD. However, this still represents an excellent value and I'm going to enjoy listening to this collection. It is important to remember that music is SUBJECTIVE and there is something for everyones taste. It is not necessary to attack the music that we don't like, just listen to the stuff that we do.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed compared to previous years, January 26, 2004
This review is from: Grammy Nominees 2004 (Audio CD)
previous year's nom CD covered Best Female Artist Pop and Male pretty extensively. This year they've missed some great performances from Dido's White Flag, Sarah McLachlan's Fallen, and Kelly Clarkson's Miss Independent. And why didn't they give us Evanescence's Bring Me to Life? Or Michelle Branch's Are You Happy Now?
