Country performances have made a great contribution to the Grammy awards. Special ones are here, Now, MOST country fans would agree with host Travis Tritt that the Judds farewell "Love Can Build a Bridge" was the most memorable time in country music history and in this collection. But I disagree, and feel that the finest performances here are Johnny Cash's 1990, "Folsom Prison Blues" and the always beautiful "You Were Always On My Mind", 1983 by Willie Nelson, shot live from Texas.

A great duet features Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson for "Me and Bobby McGee." Crystal Gayle in a soft sultry voice performs 1978, "Make My Brown Eyes Blue"; and the Oak Ridge Boys do their famous "Elvira" in 1982.

There is a little bit for every country generation here, from Roy Acuff & Emily Lou Harris, 1987 "Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain", the only music two guitars and a violin played by Charlie Daniels. The newest generation (at time of production of tape) includes the opening rousing number "All My Rowdy Friends are Coming Over" from Hank Williams Jr.

Billy Ray Cyrus shimmies for his 1993, "Achy Breaky Heart" where he spots Magic Johnson and steps down quickly during the song to shake his hand.

Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart hug the mike and duet on the 1993 "Whiskey Ain't Workin' Anymore".

Kenny Rogers does his tribute to the music industry people in his 90's "Through the Years."

Wynonna and Clint Black duet on the 1994 hit "Goodbye." Lyle Lovett with his large hair is accompanied by his Large Band. The magnificent voice of the handsome Vince Gill with the ballad 1992, "Pocket Full of Gold." Three short segments of country hits come from Randy Travis, "Forever & Ever"; George Strait, "All My Exs Live in Texas"; and K.T. Oslin "80s Ladies. These short versions may have attributed the songwriter award. A real keeper!.....MzRizz
