Could be better,

If you are looking for a classical cd guide, I would recommend the Penguin guide. Considering Gramophone is such a great magazine, I was somewhat disappointed with this guide. There is only one review of one chosen recording for each major work, whereas with Penguin all the listed recordings are reviewed to some degree. Also, Gramophone tends to give little or no respect to American conductors or American orchestras in the reviews. Some very fine recordings of major reportoire works performed by Americans are completely left out. I guess I expected better from Gramophone.

An invaluable list of reviews on CD. Clearly laid out, and logically organised. All I need now is the whole thing on CD-ROM.... If there is any problem, it's the sheer size, it's getting very big, and clumbersome, not quite bedtime reading!
