4.0 out of 5 stars Monguito fills a great void., October 25, 2011
This review is from: Gran Pacheco Te Invita a Bailar (Audio CD)
This album has a bit of history behind it, besides just being released in 1967. Lead vocals on this album were done by Monguito "El Único" and Chivirico Dávila after Pete el Conde Rodriguez left allegedly because of a dispute with Monguito. There are several very good songs on this album like for instance: "Pescador", "Diablo", "Mujer de Peso" and "Sarandonga" (later re-done by Adalberto Santiago). My personal favorites are "Que Humanidad" and "Ven, Ven" 2 absolutely fantastic tracks that proved that both Monguito and Chivirico were great singers. The album is mostly Cuban influenced with several montunos and guajiras. Overall, a great album that should be in your collection if you are a Pacheco fan.
