I could not get over the pure talent of this group of musical purists. It is plain from the high level of talent of each member of this band that they are musical purists who have nothing but the deepest respect for their musical muse and talent.

In addition to being highly danceable, the music is a form of cultural sharing. Connie Grossman treats the world to her brilliant, flawless flute solos and the inclusion of other instruments makes for a rich listening experience. No doubt these talented performers will continue going places!

When I first heard of SonSublime it was on a marquee outside the Westgate Lounge, a popular Latin music and dance club in Westchester, New York, that my wife and I frequent whenever we get the urge to pachangiar (Cuban slang for major partying). I thought to myself, "Yeah - right...Sublime...how presumptuous." I've gotten so used to mediocre Latin bands that I expected more of the same. The moment SonSublime came on the stage and began playing we jumped to our feet and began to dance! Not since the golden years of Cuban music in the 1940's and 50's, with legends like La Orquesta Aragon, La Sonora Matancera and the late Jose Fajardo Sr. y Su Orquesta has there been a sound so sublime. Needless to say, we danced all night non-stop! On our way out we purchased their new CD entitled Bailando Con SonSublime at the door and played it all the way home in the car. The next day I went online and ordered their other CD offerings, Irresistible and Gran Reserva; again, the name says it all! This is music that you can listen to as well as dance to. The lyrics, the musical arrangements, the vocals, each individual instrument and above all, the truly superb, out of this world flute solos and accompaniments by Connie Grossman all combine into what is rightly entitled SonSublime. This band is destined for greatness - they already are great - all you have to do is listen and you'll agree!

Cuban music turns me on. Especially this very nice production by sexy Cuban singer Jesse Herrero. I saw SonSublime at S.O.B's and could not keep my eyes off this sexy Cuban man. I purchased their CD through Amazon.com and have not stopped playing it since I got it. It is awesome like the band!!! (...)

Wow what a band! My friends and I went to see SonSublime at S.O.B's last Friday, May 21st, 2004 and we were blown away by their funky sound. I got their new CD Gran Reserva last Christmas from a friend and play it twice and then went back to school to finish graduate school at the University of Michigan. I am back in New York and after hearing SonSublime live at S.O.B's, I could not wait to look for the CD at my parent's house and play it again. They sound just, or better than the CD and this is the reason I am giving them this great review.

As we all know, great is better than OK, good, well, or fine. This is a great band with a great recording to back it up!

Hey dancers out there! This Charanga from New York is one of the most authentic Cuban sounding bands in the area. This CD entitled Gran Reserva smokes from the start to the end with beautiful and strong vocals giving this recording lot's of energy and sexy peal. Very nice arrangements by "Virtuoso", Alfredo Valdes, Jr. This is another great production by Mr. Jesse Leandro Herrero, the Leader of the band. Cool!!!

My name is Emily Vega and I live in Manhattan. I was born in Montreal, Canada of Puerto Rican parents. I did not know much about Charanga music until I bought SonSublime's Gran Reserva and felt in love with this band and this style of Cuban music. It actually swings more than the traditional New York Salsa that we hear in the clubs and the radio. I love the violins, flute and the vocals. I also love the energy of SonSublime's music. This is a great CD. I highly recommended and I want to see them live.

My name is Bárbaro Manuél Céspedes. I was born in Venezuela, but I am now residing in Columbus, Ohio. I am an Architect for a major Real Estate company here in Ohio. I have been following SonSublimes footsteps since they came out with a CD called Irresistible in 2001. On June 20, 2003, SonSublime came to Columbus, Ohio to perform at El Festival Latino and they were above and beyond what we were expecting. The band performed with such energy and authority that I thought they were going to set the stage up on fire.

On July 23, 2003, my girl and I and a group of friends went to New York City to see them perform at Lincoln Center during The Midsummer Night Swing event. The trip was worth every Dollar we spent to go to New York City to see their performance. They get better and better, like aging wine. I bought their new release Gran Reserva through Amazon.com and purchased another one at Lincoln Center during the event.

The Gran Reserva CD is absolutely fantastic. It swings from the beginning to the end. My favorite songs are: Muñeca, El Vendedor de Agua and Cuatro Personas. I am also very impressed by the way they play Danzones. The Danzon on this CD takes my breath away. Great!!!!! Great production guys!!!!!

Wow!!!! What an album by this band from New York City.

I found this band by accident on the web. I visited their site and heard the sample songs from their Gran Reserva CD, which I liked very much. So, I decided to buy one CD, which I play at the apartment and I love it so much that I bought another one for my car.

I have been dating a Colombian woman for the past three years and taking Spanish classes to be able to communicate with her relatives. I have lots of trouble understanding the lyrics and pronunciations from other salsa bands both live and on their recordings. But, Sonsublime is the real stuff when it comes to getting the message across with clear Spanish. My girl friend tells me that they are sophisticated Spanish speaking people. Maybe that is true for these guys. There are some things that don't understand, but I think is because they are using Cuban slang. But for the most part the words from their themes are understandable and interesting at the same time.

By the way my name is Andrew Weiss and I am an attorney for a major corporation in Atlanta, GA. I wish Sonsublime lots of luck on their journey to success.

My name is Roberto Martinez from Los Angeles, California. I am a physician and when I am not taking care of my patient's health I love to cook Cuban food and listen to great music like these guys from Son Sublime. I heard their new CD Gran Reserva on KPFM on Canto Tropical hosted by Hector Resendez and immediately fell in love with this new album. Their other CD, Irresistible from 2001 is also a blast!!

My name is Mia Campos. I am a young Cuban-American residing in Miami and for the last couple of years I became interested in the Cuban music roots. One day on a trip to the keys, my parents played SonSublime's first CD Irresistible in the car. I immediately got hooked to Charanga music. I thought that this would be a one-time production by this band. But, I am happy to be wrong, because they did it again!!!

I just bought their new CD Gran Reserva and I love each song, as one gets better than the other. The vocals are absolutely extraordinary. The strings and flute are smooth like a Gran Reserva vintage wine. Congratulations again to the guys from this magnificent charanga band that really know how to interpret the Cuban Son in a sublime way. Don't stop here guys. Keep on doing it.
