Book Description

August 7, 2001
Humorous insights you wouldn't expect to find uttered by anyone less than Gran'Pa. All about bugs, boobs, and other offbeat subjects, presented in a way that's guaranteed to elicit more than a little smile. You'll be amazed at what you can do with corset staves, what you'll hear when nobody knows you're there, why poor folks are better off than rich, and why Santa Claus makes his annual rounds (to keep the Earth from tipping over!).

About the Author

A genuine sexy-genarian, Lloyd has lived and worked in most U.S. states at all kinds of employment. His country raising never left him bereft of values to guide himself through life, and the creation of Gran'Pa displays the unique approach he lives by.

More About the Author

Lloyd H. Whitling, a native Pennsylvanian, has been in trouble since 1937 due to a sense of curiosity that cannot be satisfied with superficial or artificial details about his surroundings. His hands-on attitude has led him through a diverse existence that he draws on for his books and web site. The result is a unique point of view that, most likely, will keep him in trouble with his readers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little book, January 28, 2003
By
This review is from: Gran'Pa (Paperback)
This is a book of short stories. Many of them got me to think about things in a different way that I probably wouldn't have ever thought of! One of these was titled "Sex in the Old Days"; it wasn't quite what I expected from the title! This would be a great book to take along with you if you have small periods of time to fill in (the doctor's office, waiting for a bus...). I'm looking forward to reading more of this author's books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A STRANGE AND WONDERFUL LOOK AT LIFE, May 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Gran'Pa (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. If you are depressed, the many short stories will perk you up. I could relate to many of the stories, took me back many years. My favorite was LITTLE TYKIE. A book that will be read over and over. This would be a great book to give as a gift.
