Obviously the contributors are knowledgeable individuals chosen to work in areas of their expetise. A book on this subject was long over due. I think other readers will be amazed at the high quality of writing and researched details that went into this book. A repetoire of little known facts about the lives of most of these Grand Duchesses (20 or so) that have never been published elsewhere before. The readers will be enthalled by the stories and left wanting for more. I recommend it highly and for me it will prove a good book for references.

This is a very well written and researched book on the Russian Grand Duchesses from the early 19th century to the present. This book definitely fulfulls a need as there is very little written in English on most of the Grand Duchesses profiled here. Each mini biography is written by excellent historians who manage to bring each subject to life. The book is also very well illustrated. If you are a Russian history or Royalty buff, you will enjoy this book.

Despite the picture of "OTMA", (Olga, Titania, Marie, Anastasia), on the cover, the title clearly states that this is a book about the "daughters and grand-daughters" of Russia's Czars. And that it contains the stories of about 20 of them. Therefore, this book deals with some generations BEFORE Nicolas II, as well as "OTMA". If you are looking for a book on "OTMA", only, I suggest you try another book. If, however, your interest extends to ALL daughters and grand-daughters of Russia's Czars, this IS the book for you!

i recieve this book as a gift ,give to another friend who loves anything about Romanov's.you get information about grandduchesses who were not well know.the storys will have you to the point you can't put this book down.
