I recently bought The Grand Experience "album" and have also been listening to JCG perform at music venues in So Cal for many years. This album includes an eclectic collection of his original material. When I listen to it I like to mix up the play order a bit, starting out with the more exuherant songs like Feel It, Oh Schwing and wrapping up with the more reflective songs like Nowhere Man and The Glowing Box. JCG could hold his own on Storytellers with these songs in his repertoire, especially Collard Green Man (my personal favorite), and I'll Show It to You. All in all a grand listening experience, can't wait for the next one.

I found this guy through his association with Steve Vai and Chris Frazier and heard his guitar skill were legendary only to find out that his original music does not reflect his shredding abilities but more his songwriting skills. It took a few listens but this record very quickly after that, grew to be a top 5 album in my collection. The melodic content of European rock bands (Beatles, Muse, Radiohead) combined with the vocal prowess of American rockers, Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley and Mark Farner, a few of these tunes are instant rock classics, signed act or not. Hope there is another release on the horizon....James???
