4.0 out of 5 stars Very good
This is one of those intimist character-driven movies (hey, it's french after all) where nothing seems to happen, but are entertaining nevertheless, at least the good ones, and this one is.
It's about the daily routine of a grandmother and grandchild coping with the death of their daughter/mother, respectively. What marvells me the most is that with a very...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Little Deceptive Advertising
Judging by the box and printing on the CD you would think this was a wild gay sex comedy, but that is far from the case. This film is a small little tragi-comedy about a young man and his grandmother, debating the challenges of what to do with his late mother's cremated remains. There are other gay characters in the film, including an older boyfriend and new young...

This film is a small little tragi-comedy about a young man and his grandmother, debating the challenges of what to do with his late mother's cremated remains. There are other gay characters in the film, including an older boyfriend and new young housekeeper, but they are not the main focus of this film.

A sweet little film about family dynamics, presented warts and all, but not the rollicking sex comedy that the packaging proposes.

It's about the daily routine of a grandmother and grandchild coping with the death of their daughter/mother, respectively. What marvells me the most is that with a very event-challenged plot and a grandmother character that can be irritating, and a grandson character that can come off as petulant, the movie manages to keep us interested, and ends up moving us.
It's shot on video and it looks like it, but this enhances the home-video diary-like feel of the movie.
