This is a fun album with songs in spanish. A very fun album to listen to, but not a must unless your a collector.

02. Deodato - Super Strut
03. Cachao - A Gazar Con Me Combo
04. Mongo Santamaria - Me And You Baby (Picao Y Tostao)

5.0 out of 5 stars The highest quality radio station in Vice City, March 17, 2003
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
Radio Espantoso hopefully will introduce a whole new generation to New York Latin Big Band Jazz, late 70s latin jazz funk, and such huge artists as Mongo Santamaria.

Of all of the Vice City soundtracks, i find this one to have the most consistent musical quality. There is only one song on this whole album I dislike ("La Vida Es Una Lenteja" by Unresta which is an unauthentic track made especially for the game). I am also not too into the tracks by Irakere and Beny More. Every other song on this album, i absolutely love. I listen to this one more than any other Vice City soundtrack.

The two Deodato tracks, "Super Strut" and "Latin Flute" contain great 70s funk with virtuosic solos. Mongo Santamaria's "Me And You Baby" contains an awesome trumpet solo at the beginning and cool albeit slightly cheesy vocals. "Jamay" by Xavier Cugat and his Orchestra is a dramatic and epic latin big band song. Tito Puente's "Mambo Gozon" is a certified classic, and "A Gozar Con Mi Combo" by Cachao contains really cool arrangements that include a meaty clarinet part.

This album is a very good introduction to Latin Big Band and 70s Jazz. I will most likely buy albums from some of these artists and i just really love this album. So especially if you like this radio station in the video game, or if you just are interested in getting your feet wet with this type of music, get this album right away!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Acid Jazz, Latin Procussion, Funk, and Brass Sound, November 14, 2004
By
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
I agree with the previous reviewer, this is definitley the highest quality station on the game. It captures the the essence of the game perfectly, set in Miami where there is a large latino population this station in itself could be the whole soundtrack to the game with ease. My favorite tracks are "super strut" by Deodato which is an amazing display of funk mixed with a latino acid jazz touch, "expansions" by the acid jazz/funk master Lonnie Liston Smith, this track has an amazing array of instruments. Overall this album has the best flowing sound to it and it is the best out of any of the other soundtracks, but please check out the WILDSTYLE station and the FEVER 105 Station, each have a pretty good collection of cuts.

4.0 out of 5 stars One song is missing..., June 15, 2005
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
Excellent soundtrack, one of the best.

Can't give it 5 stars cause as someone said it lacks one song: "Yo te mire", from "Tres apenas como eso", one of the best (and most played) songs of the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best radio station in Vice City!!, November 29, 2002
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
Although I'm a white American I work with mexicans in an engineering factory & I highly respected this music, I found myself listening to this more than any radio station in the game next to fever 105 & wildstyle which were bumpin too. The music on espantoso is from the 40's to the 70's but it's a timeless experience, I didn't feel like this was an educational experience because I don't know much spanish but you feel like your spanish yourself listening to this. It's just natural.Paz amigos

By
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
I was looking for a song on this CD that they played on Radio Espantoso, but for some reason, they didn't put in on the CD! What's even weirder is that THE SONG THEY LEFT OUT WAS THE SONG THEY PLAYED THE MOST OFTEN ON THIS STATION!

5.0 out of 5 stars ?La mejor estaci?n de radio de la vice ciudad!, November 29, 2002
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vol. 7 - Radio Espantoso (Audio CD)
