Great For Hiking,
By Chris Stock (Florida Native) - See all my reviews My only beef with it is that the mesh is not even remotely flame retardant, as a stray ember from our small campfire hit it and burned a 1 inch hole nearly instantly. Nothing that the almighty piece of duct tape couldn't fix, but it would've been a great feature. Between this and my Katadyn, I'll never hit a trail without it!

I used this hammock on a 9 night camping trip in the Smokeys and it worked fantastically.
I also use this for bicycle touring/stealth camping and backpacking (a 20 oz. hammock beats carrying around a tent any day!) Pros: relatively inexpensive, lightweight, comfortable, easy to set up, insect netting, more versatile than a tent. packs small Cons: restrictive length, requires additional fly, mosquitoes can bite through the underside Things I would advise: Have a good rainfly - I used a large tarp tented above the hammock and it did the job of keeping me dry but I'll soon be investing in an actual hammock fly. Make sure the space between to trees is adequate. If the distance is too short then you will sink to the middle during the night (which isn't very comfortable) and if the trees are spaced to far apart then you will not be able to use the hammock. Works best between tree that are 9-10 feet apart. Even when the temperature gets down to 60F the hammock can be quite chilly since there is air circulating around you, for this I recommend using a small bed role - preferably with a zipper(such as the Coleman Stratus sleeping bag liner), or even a blanket wrapped around you will work pretty well. For colder nights, use a real sleeping bag.

We travel to south america frequently to source top grade cacaos. Last month went on a trek to columbian/venezuelan border in the jungles looking for porcelana as well as coastal mountains off the caribean for a week.
Bought two of these and a regular travel hammock for my brother, cousin and myself. At first my cousin 220lb was reluctant to get in as he thought it wouldn't hold him, we tied it low to the ground around 1 inch clearance in case it didn't hold he wouldn't get hurt. after he zipped himself in, he was out cold in about 5minutes and slept through the night no worries held up great for 5 days. Was worried the nylon would be hot, it's not, very breathable to lay on and top net lets breeze come through. I love these things, easy to use, has tie on rope, hooks, travel pouch, plus saves you from having to douse yourself with deet. recommend netted for anyone camping where there might be mosquitos and the open top for anyone going to beach and want to lay around. Also get some extra rope if you are tying to trees as the ones included are perfect for standard hammock notches but dont quite make it if you have to rig something to tree trunks. 2115|R1I9LHB72IUAKS;2115|R3PKAUCLQA86WO;2115|R1UQZTGBGHJVJ4;
