Additional information is also included about other religions that might have been present. The Baden volume is made up of over 2,226 places and the book has a total of 291 pages.
This new Second Edition has been completely rewritten. Although the majority of the data is the same as the First Edition done in 2004, the Second Edition has MANY CHANGES. These include: A new Introduction by Leland K. Meitzler; More detailed Overview Maps, with place names added for the surrounding states; Redrawn Amt Maps, with extra-bold lines on all the outer state borders, the addition of the names of the neighboring districts; Complete rearrangement of the four local districts that make up Baden. The Lutheran and Catholic parish maps now follow each other within the Bezirk (district) section. Corrections and additions have been made to boundaries, place name spellings, and Family History Library film numbers for Lutheran, Catholic, Jewish and Reformed parishes; Additional Family History Library film numbers have been added to numerous Parish Keys; A non-curl laminated cover.
Use the Map Guide to: locate the parish where your ancestor went to church, based on where they lived, find the Family History Library microfilm number for your family's parish records, identify the parishes for Lutherans and Catholics within each district, locate neighboring parishes, just in case your ancestor may have gone to an alternate parish, conduct area searches, particularly across district or regional borders, determine proximity of one area or parish to another, determine reasonable travel distances from one area to another, find population centers in each church parish, locate archives, repositories, and other resources and aids in identifying the location of minority religions.
