This book is a great resource for special FX hobbiests and for those who want to persue in the Special FX make-up field. Thanks to Savini, he shows you, step-by-step, on how he did the FX and make-up appliances from his movies. The book contains an abundance of detailed diagrams, color photos and reference to such films as Monkeyshine, Texas Chainsaw2 to name a few. I recomend this to anyone who wants to learn the art of Special FX Make-up...

This book is the perfect companion to the first Grande Illusions book. With even more detailed pictures of Tom Savini's amazing special effects work (mostly gore), a full-color section, and detailed notes and instructions, this is definitely one of the must have books for any horror film fan, or special effects artist (beginner or advanced). Some of the 14 films covered in this book are: Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Day of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre II, Killing Zoe, and Night of the Living Dead

I love Tom Savini for his contributions to the Film industry definitely a must have. Great quality, great product and great condition.

As an independent filmmaker at times I need to know how to do special makeup. Tom Savini's rep speaks for itself and his GRANDE ILLUSION books are an excellent resource for anyone needing information on creature makeup, puppets and gore fx.

Being a big fan of Tom Savini's incredible work, it has been my dream to own this book. When it arrived today I was dancing up a storm from excitement and couldn't wait to peer inside. Filled with beautiful and incredibly rare black and white and color photos, Tom breakdowns some of his greatest illusions of all time. Inside there are many interesting illustrations, including the Dick Smith Breakdown Prosthetic method used to create Grandpa in Texas Chainsaw Massacre II. For those interested in animatronics, a few shots of the creature from Monkey shines and Tales from the Darkside are great as well. He even shows how to do hairpunching, a tricky business in creating a realistic hairline for props and creatures. All in all, it is a very good book! An excellent resource for those interested in makeup effects and for those morbidly curious out there. Believe me, this is worth the money!!!! GET IT TODAY!!!

The history in the book alone is worth the price. It's a mini-biography of Savini's work with tons of clear photos. The how-to sections are really informative and inspiring. Books I and II don't necessarily need to be read in order, but they are a great collection.

Como Efectista digo lo siguiente: Este libro no te debe faltar. Detalladas descripciones de como se lograron algunos de los efectos mas impresionantes del cine Americano de los años 80s y 90s. Si te estas iniciando en los efectos sera de mucha utilidad ya que contiene graficos explicando tecnicas basicas de la profesion.

En definitiva si lo estas dudando, no lo hagas mas compralo!!!
