This could have been 5 stars. I put four because, I'm no expert on french songs. But this appears to be an excellent selection. Lucienne Boyer's "Parlez-moi d'amour" which I've obviously heard before was a revelation -- I forgot how good it was -- I play it over and over. A good introduction, I think. By the way, the songs and recordings are mostly from the 30's.

Les Grandes Chansons Francaises is a collection of the old original Frenceh artists. This music C.D. is well worth the buy, if you appreciate and admire the old traditional French Chansons. Masterpieces all of them.! the early french recordings are the best to listen to... this C.D. will transport you back into another era. Great to listen to at dinner by candlelight.
