If you are interested in the developement of today's spanish music, pick this album up. Karina covers allot of english songs we in the US know by other artists, and a few original spanish jems. I can't imagine anyone else singing "En Un Mundo Nuevo", and she sang it so beautifully, she came in 3rd for Spain at the 1971 Eurovision Song Contest.

There are just a few tracks that this CD is missing...
"Yeh! Yeh!" , "Me Lo Dijo Perez" (from the 1965 Mallorca Song Contest), and "Ahora Te Puedes Marchar" (I Only Wanna Be With You).

Karina was a sweet young singer from the pretty much undiscovered Spanish ye ye genre of the 60's and 70's. The music sounded similar to the French ye ye genre but had a definite Spanish flavor.
Grandes Exitos starts with some pop flavored songs and moves into more easy listening where Karina's voice matures. There are some covers here (Will you love me Tomorrow, I'll never fall in love again, Be my baby) but they aren't weak. The downside to this cd is there aren't any liner notes.
