About the Author

Wakiko Satowas born in Tokyo, Japan. Ms. Sato now lives in Nagano and isin charge of a picture book museum. She is also a member of the Japan Children’s Book Artists Society (JCBAS). Working as a designer, Ms. Sato helped create a brochure for a music school. This experience was the inspiration for developing a passion to write and illustrate picture books. In 1978, her picture book Swapping received The Ehon Nippon Awards. Combining her writing and illustrating skills, Ms. Sato’s published works include A Little Mouse, Shopping, House-sitting and the Grandma Baba series.
