Like other reviewers. I too grew up in upstate New York and on Grandma Brown bake beans.
I've visited and lived in other countries around the world and had friends and relatives from New York ship them to me) and now that I live in Florida (where the price of any guests from New York to stay at my place is a dozen cans of - you got it - Grandma Brown bake beans.
I'm here to tell you. I've never found better bake beans, hands down. Now that I know I can get them on line,
I can be more discriminating with who crashes at my place.

Grandma Brown's Baked are the Best. Before baking, add the following: tsp of yellow mustard, 1 tbsp of ketchup, i tbsp molasses, 1/4 cup brown sugar. Mix well and top with bacon. Put in oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or bubbly- The Greatest!!

I do like the product. However, four of the twelve cans had BIG dents in them. They were double boxed so it wasn't the packaging. It was whomever selected the cans to be boxed.

As I remember, I would spread the whole large can of Grandma Brown's in a 9X13 cake pan, mix in a third to half a box of brown sugar and cover the top with all the strips from a pound of bacon, then bake 45 minutes at 350 or so. OK, maybe one of the unhealthiest meal additions ever with the sugar and the fat, but man was it good!

I have missed Grandma Brown's Beans since we left upstate NY in 1977. Have searched everywhere we ever lived but haven't been able to find them until I looked for them on Amazon.com! They are still as scrumptious as they were then - I just add a touch of brown sugar, salt and pepper and heat up. Delicious!!

While I just love these beans, I am giving 3 stars because the price was high for these & some of the cans were dented beyond use. I had to send the whole carton back. Amazon customer service was very accommodating & issued a refund immediately. I can get these beans for about 1/2 the price when I visit my family in central NY. However, I currently live 3 hours away & I was wishing for them so I bought these. If you are wishing for them & don't live close to where they are sold, I guess these would be a good option. But I couldn't justify the cost for the amount of dented cans I received.

Grandma Brown Baked Beans 12ct The only baked beans that actually taste like the kind at church suppers and the one my mom made for us when she didn't have time to soak beans overnight. A plus if you have ever had bariatric surgery--these are sure to provide the protein, taste and satisfaction you crave. Not too sweet and tastes good on homemade white bread and butter with some vinegar and chopped onions on top as an open face sandwich. On the side? Try scalloped potatoes with little hotdogs cut up in it. Can eat this everyday.

I grew up in Upstate NY and these beans were a staple at nearly every summer dinner. My Dad knew Grandma Brown growing up in Mexico NY. He tells stories of her coming to cook-outs with her home made beans. He said her beans were always such a big hit and if you try these you'll know why. Now, many folks cook them up.. but my Dad grew up eating them cold in a bowl with vinegar, salt and pepper. Don't get me wrong, they are great heated up, add some brown sugar or bacon, etc.. but I'll always love them best like my Dad ate them.
