I am soooo thrilled to have my own copy of this book. Grandma's autobiography speaks in her own, often lyrical, charming voice. Every American should hear (read) her talk. Without realizing it, the reader learns a great deal of what life was like in the mid-late 1800's and early 1900's for the majority of people who lived in an agriculturally based society. AND... Anna Mary's attitude about life seeps into you and helps you revel in life as she did.

Huge coffee table book, chock full of info that I didn't know about Grandma Moses, although I have read other books about her. I particularly enjoyed the summary of her life, hand written in her very own words, spelling errors and all. Lots and lots of pictures of her work, mostly in color. I enjoyed the author's descriptions of Moses' paintings and also his take on the world's obsession with Grandma Moses. Fascinating and fun read!

This book is a true gem. It's not a book on how to paint like Grandma Moses, it's just a sweet, simple little read about her life. Kinda like sitting with a loving grandmother (if you had one that wanted to spend time with you) while she told you about her life in her "old-fashioned" way. There are pictures to go along with her story as well as a few pictures of some of her paintings.

My favorite Grandma Moses quote of all time, "Life is what you make it. Always has been, Always will be."

Love this little old lady. I wish we had more down-to-earth inspirational people in the world like her today. She didn't have an agenda and she didn't subscribe to dogma.

Thrilled to see generous collection of prints, AND read biographical information re. Grandma's life and career. Never knew she bore 10 children and sadly, lost five. Never knew she only began painting at age 76. What an inspiration to budding artists of any kind who may be late bloomers. The prints are a good size and joy to behold. Very satisfying book both visually and factually.

This book is small and its illustrations were few and of inadequate quality. I do not recommend this book. End.
