We LOVE the other John Denver books illustrated by Christopher Canyon and could not wait for the arrival of Grandma's Featherbed. The first time I ever heard this song was on the Muppet Show, so I have visions of Muppets dancing in my head whenever I hear it. That made me wonder how the book would be in comparison to Muppets---how can you top that?

Well, it may not top my childhood memory of Muppets, but Christopher Canyon has made great new characters that come to life in this book! It is TERRIFIC!!! Lots of detail, LOVE the big eyes and facial expression---LOTS of FUN! The format, put together with John Denver's lyrics and CD, is fun---a great way to keep John Denver alive and share his music and love of nature and family with future generations. My 1 1/2-year old LOVES these books, too :) We always sing through it at least once and then go back through to point out & name all the animals, sun, trees, colors and other details. It's really FUN :)

Christopher, if you read this, thank you and keep up the good work---Maybe a future project, you can create a book for us that demonstrates John Denver's love for the Alaskan wilderness? That would be SOOOOOOOO cool!!!

John Denver's Grandma's Feather Bed is a softcover children's picturebook based on the famous song written by Jim Connor and "adopted" by popular musician John Denver. Exuberantly illustrated by Christopher Canyon, John Denver's Grandma's Feather Bed brings a classic ditty about family fun and togetherness to life. "When I was a little bitty boy / just up off the floor, / we used to go out to Grandma's house / every month-end or so. / We'd have chicken pie and country ham / and homemade butter on the bread, / but the best darn thing about / Grandma's house was her / great big feather bed!" The last few pages offer more information about the people who created the song, as well as a musical score for the tune. An especial treat for young and old John Denver fans to share together.

I bought this book thinking it was a read along book. It is just the song on the CD which is hard to follow for a 5 year old reading along. He does love the song and the book is beautiful and fun to look at. He had a fit of the giggles when we tried to turn the pages to keep up with the song, there is just too much to look at on each page to go so fast. We appreciate them seperately.

Cute book with lyrics. The song was not the original recording... a little disappointing.

Great Book....Illustrations were outstanding. I love John Denver's songs. Mr. Canyon is a fine artist and makes the song come alive in the book.

This was purchased as a gift. It arrived promptly and the book was in good condition. The CD was rather difficult to remove from the back cover and thought the quality of the recording was not as high quality as John Denver's traditional albums ---- kind of dissapointing. The illustrations were well done.

This is the 4th time I have purchased this same book for family members & myself. It is such an amazingly illustrated book. The song was written by an inspirational man who has captured the hearts of numerous generations of families. My husband & I, our daughter (who as a child got to sit on the stage with John & sing Grandma's Feather Bed with a few other children at one of his concerts),& now our grandchildren all truly enjoy John's heartwarming songs. His ability to reach feelings that remind us of how truly blessed we were to have his multitude of amazing songs & his one of a kind voice. Keep these books coming to us we need them to remind us of what we are missing with his passing. He would be so proud of the job that Christopher Canyon & Dawn Publishing did to bring his song to life.

Delightful book to read/sing to younger children ! The illustrations are wonderful with bright colors and lots of things to "look at". I also have 'Take Me Home Country Roads" and 'Sunshine On My Shoulders". All three are wonderful !

This book brings to life one of John Denver's signature songs. My 2 year old daughter wants to listen to the song and look at the book almost daily. The CD is a different version from any Greatest Hits CDs, so this book for my daughter has become a gift to me as well.

Great book/CD for parents who grew up hearing John Denver sing this song on 8-tracks and cassettes and want to sing and dance with their preschool children.
