5.0 out of 5 stars Poignant and Laugh-Out-Loud Funny!
Great book! Poignant and laugh-out-loud funny! Any grandparent will love it! Perfect gift for a boomer grandpa (like me!) or grandpa-to-be! Dave Barry, Lewis Grizzard, Bob Greene move over! Dare you to read one page and not want to read the whole thing. A fun, easy, read--I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the sequel!

1.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended?
I got 2 of these for my grandparents to be. Thankfully I previewed one before passing them on as gifts. (I did not pass them along to anybody.)

This book is not smart-stupid, it's stupid-stupid. This in and of itself wouldn't be so bad if there weren't typo's (a missing word here, a juxtaposed pair there) that made me feel like the book must not have had an...

I got 2 of these for my grandparents to be. Thankfully I previewed one before passing them on as gifts. (I did not pass them along to anybody.)

This book is not smart-stupid, it's stupid-stupid. This in and of itself wouldn't be so bad if there weren't typo's (a missing word here, a juxtaposed pair there) that made me feel like the book must not have had an editor, and the author had indeed pestered Bill Crosby until he wrote a nice Foreword so that the author would leave him alone.

In conclusion, if you you know a grandpa/grandpa-to-be who likes really dumb humor, or who will appreciate the thought of the gift but never actually READ the book, I can highly recommend it.

I started reading this book seated on my porch while having lunch. I had to come in the house because I was afraid the neighbours might think I had lost it!! I have never laughed so consistantly while reading a book. It is hilarious!! I give grandparenting prenatal classes and I bought the book as a possible reference for my students............it WILL be referred. It is insightful and helpful as well as very entertaining...........

This is a very funny, easy to read book which will ring true to any parent or grandparent. I laughed out loud the whole time I read it.
And yes, being a grandparent is the best job in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Dad Loves It, January 23, 2012
This review is from: Grandpa Rules: Notes on Grandfatherhood, The World's Best Job (Hardcover)
When my father became a grandfather he was in heaven. I bought this for him at Christmas time. He is hard to buy for and I thought the book would sit around unopened until my mom put it with the other books that haven't been read. Boy was I wrong. He read it many times and he was laughing a lot. I skimmed through it and found it to be entertaining.

This is one of those useless books with some humor. If you got nothing better to do with your time, buy this.
