He is sad because he can no longer catch enough fish to earn a living. Then he comes up with the idea of farming sea moss on floating rafts. Once more he can return to the sea where he belongs. This quietly optimistic story is told with an air of authenticity and appreciation by a woman who has firsthand knowledge of Caribbean fisheries. Her primitive watercolor drawings glow with the lovely shades of aqua, green, blue, pink, and red so special to the islands.
