The War with Grandpa Book Review
Have you ever been in a situation where someone took something you love? In the story The War with Grandpa, Peter the main character losses his room to his grandpa. In the book Peter writes a story for school when grandpa comes to live with them. When grandpa comes he gets Peter's room. Peter never felt worse before. He couldn't believe his own parents would give his room to his grandpa. So Peter started a war with him. During the war Peter and his grandpa played some mean tricks on each other. On time Peter took Grandpa's false teeth. With out his teeth grandpa sounded really funny. Something else was Grandpa took and hid Peter's school supplies. Then Peter had to go around the house looking for his supplies and was late for school. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to cry and laugh. This book gets a 4 and half stars. Robert Kimmle Smith explains the book very well. He also tells the struggle Peter had to go through. Now I could tell why they call it The War with Grandpa.

SECOND GRADER'S REVIEW by Richard,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The War with Grandpa (Yearling) (Paperback)
When Grandpa came to Petey's house Petey and Grandpa went to war. Grandpa went to live there and took Petey's room. Then Petey went to live upstairs. They played tricks on each other until he got his room back. They stopped war when Petey got his room back. One trick was Grandpa took Petey's Monopoly's pieces. When Grandpa came to live with them, Grandma had died. At the end Grandpa moved into the basement. Down in the basement Grandpa made a bedroom. At the end of the book Petey and Grandpa became friends again. I think the book was good.

... I think this book is one of the very best books I've ever read.It is about a boy named Peter who has to move out of his room to the third floor. It's because his grandpa moves in,and has to live in Peter's room because grandpa's leg hurts so he can't walk down all those steps from the third floor. So Peter starts a war with grandpa,to get his room back.So if you like what you hear you'll probaly want to read this book,to find out what happens.

I really liked this book because it is very funny and I would never fight with my Grandpa. I like to read a little suspense and some action sometimes. I liked all the tricks they did to each other. The one trick I liked the most was when Pete took his grandpa's false teeth.A nether good one was when grandpa made pete late for school by setting his alarm clock 15 minutes ahead. Also I liked when grandpa took Petes MONOPOLY pieces. And when Grandpa took Pete's tooth brush and Pete had to brush his teeth with his finger that would be grouse brushing your teeth with your finger.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: The War with Grandpa (Yearling) (Paperback)
The War With Grandpa is a wonderful book. It's about a kid named Peter Stokes who is delighted when his sister, Jenny, tells him that his Grandpa Jack is coming to live with them. But, his smile turns into a frown when he's forced out of his bedroom onto the stinky 3rd floor, so Grandpa can sleep in Peter's room. Peter's so mad he (thinks) he has no choice but to go to war over the room. His friends think should do gorilla warfare, but Peter has a different idea,. ( so, does Grandpa.) It's funny, interesting and makes you eager to turn the page. I'd give it 5 stars. Peter has a wonderful relationship with his grandfather, will that last?

WOW! this book is very good. I would recommend this book to people that love their room because the main character, Peter, does. His grandpa came to live with Peter and his family because his wife died and he was all alone. He sold his house down in Florida and came to live with them. Peter's mom and dad gave Grandpa Peter's room. Peter did some stupid stuff, like getting into guerilla warfare with his grandpa to get his room back. I think that is weird, but he did like his grandpa. You'll have to read the book to find out whether Peter gets his room back or not.

This is a great book! The War with Grandpa has a lot of dialogue which makes it funny. It is an exciting book. It grabs you a lot. This book is about when Jenny, Peter's sister, tells him that their Grandpa Jack is coming to live with them because he is lonely since Grandma died from emphysema. Peter has to loose his room because Grandpa's leg hurts and he cannot go up the stairs. Peter does not want to loose his room, so he asks his friends for advice. Peter's friends tell Peter to do guerilla warfare with his grandpa. Peter tries doing funny tricks on him which he thinks are nasty. Peter wants his room back so badly, but will he ever get his room back?

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved It so much that I would stay up late reading it.I highly recommend you buy this book. The reason I found out about this book is because of my teacher. It was so funny. My favorite part was when Peter stole his grandpas dentures and his watch. My favorite paragraph was when he said he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think when Peter declared war and called himself "The Secret Warrior", was so cool. Another reason I like this book is it was so funny; like when Grandpa Jack went and mixed up all of Peter's cloths, which made him late for school. It was so funny that his pants were inside out his book's were in different suitcases.

A Kid's Review

I rate this book 2.5 because I think that the author shouldn't have made the ending the way it ended. The book is about a boy named Peter. He loves his room. When he hears the news that his grandpa is coming he is happy, but when he looks into it he finds out that grandpa is taking his room... he starts a war. I would recommend this book if you do not like your grandpa (it might give you some ideas!). Age-wise, I would say this is for kids ages 8-10 years old. It's a comedy.
