Heavy base, so it won't tip over. The bulb puts out good light. This particular bulb is not a screw in, as used to replace incandescent bulbs. It has two pins, which you insert and twist. You do get a bulb with the lamp, so ordering extras is optional.

This lamp makes a very good reading lamp. It is being used on a night stand and provides great light for reading.

Does everything a lamp should do. It has a long enough power cable to reach down the back of my desk, and it seems to be well made. The light is adequate for spot work, and it has a nice silvery finish. All in all, a good little lamp.

The lamp is decent looking for the price, a bit cheap, but it's a cheap price and we all know that you get what you pay for. The on/off switch is on the cord which is a bit annoying if you place it on a desk with the cord running down behind the desk. It would be much better if the switch were placed on the base or on the lamp shade area. The worst part was that the "included" bulb was not actually included (it's a special bulb so you can't just pop in a standard screw-type). I called the manufacturer's customer service and after speaking to someone who was less than helpful I was given a fax number to send a copy of my amazon receipt to. He claimed that they would ship me a bulb, which I am highly skeptical that they actually will. I will probably just return the lamp to amazon and not get another.

thought it would work having read positive reviews, but it just didn't. the lamp failed to light up four out of ten times. it also flickered when adjusting the gooseneck. in addition, i don't like the design of the switch and my figures hurt.

Wouldn't even turn on. Called the company, got someone in India who told me to go buy another bulb. This thing takes a $6 bulb, and there's no guarantee that's the problem. Plus, as others noted, the switch is located on the cord a couple feet from the base. I guess you're supposed to crawl under your desk to turn it on.

While it's cute, this lamp is not heavy enough in the base to be very sturdy. It is short and you can't really turn it upwards or at an angle since the bulb is bright and sticks out of the dome. Also, I wish I'd known that it has the off/on switch on the electrical chord rather than on the base. The length is just a bit awkward.

Otherwise, it's shimmery and average looking. Hope that informs your purchase.

Nice solid, base so it doesn't fall over when adjusted. Very adequate lighting for my computer desk area. Just what I needed.
