LES NOUVELLES LECTURES COSMOPOLITES is the really prolific work of Julien ASH, a solitary musician who explores different varied and innovating universes, from industrial chaos to neo-classicism in the style of Michael NYMAN. Sometimes, this music also evokes the style of Pascal COMELADE or gothic ambiences. His creativity is only matched by his diversity. The artist doesn't fall in the trap of hermetic aestheticism or dry experiment and plays a kind of music with a pretty refined, elaborated and above all melodious neo-classical tendency which evokes DEBUSSY or the current works of Jean-Philippe GOUDE. The violin, the flute, the keyboards build often delicate, airy and picturesque pieces with dreamy or nostalgic ambiences. A kind of present classical chamber music which possesses the past from the future. "Les Grands Saules" (2002) is the latest album to date, for an ever-growing discography.
