I bought this backpack with several things in mind. First, I was going to go on a 5-day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon and I wanted a pack that was light (under 3 pounds) but could hold enough gear for the trip. Also, I wanted a pack that fit the dimensions for a carry-on the the flight. This pack fit the bill.
In researching packs, I wanted something that was light, yet comfortable and sturdy. This pack is light (you can find lighter packs but you sacrifice stuff) and has a comfortable harness system. It says it holds up to 30 pounds, but it can hold a lot more. I weighed my pack before I hit the trail and it weighed 43 pounds. Also, the Grand Canyon is quite rough on a pack, lots of sharp rock and just an overall dry, scratchy environment. This pack made it through the trip without a problem.
This pack has a nice harness system. Lots of adjustments to get it to fit your body. Has a comfortable, padded hip belt and padded shoulder straps and a padded foam backpanel. It comes with a detachable lid that double as a fanny-pack (didn't use it though) and a zipper to access your pack so it's not just a top-loader. It comes with a couple of large external mesh pockets for storage and there are numerous straps to hold your tent/sleeping pad/chair externally. Also, I found that there is a nice comparment behind the backpanel that you can nicely fit a 2.5 liter platypus for extra water (necessary for the Grand Canyon!).
My only complaint is that the internal hydration bladder compartment is too small. I like carrying either a 2.5 or 3 liter size camelback and they won't fit. I could only fit a 2 liter hydration bladder in the compartment.
Overall, this is a fantastic pack. It's maiden voyage was a tough test and it passed with flying colors.

Granite Gear is one of the few manufacturers that I've looked into that put what are basically the suspension components for a full size pack on a lightweight offering. For dayhikes in the summer I use a GG Vapor. Prior to taking a multiday hike I purchased the Meridian Vapor which has a much larger capacity while still being pretty light.

The hipbelt and shoulder straps are fully padded and easily adjusted. The load carries close to my back which makes maintaining balance while scrambling and rock hopping a non-issue. The main compartment can carry plenty of gear which the center line zipper makes easy to access. I did add an external pocket (Amazon ASIN: B000XUM974) so that snacks, batteries and other odds and ends are readily available. As the other reviewer pointed out the internal sleeve won't handle more than a two liter bladder, and it's a tight fit. The external pockets are nice though like many packs it you have a full load in the main pack it can be difficult to get larger items into the pockets. A minor quibble.

I really like this pack and appreciate how comfortable it is.
