Not just for dogs!!! We have 7 cats.,

We have seven cats that were happy when we bought a new couch and love seat - for them to destroy. Even though we have several cat scratchers, they chose the new furniture. Now I don't have to cover them up when I leave home and I can enjoy looking at our furniture. I sprayed all around the bottom and up the sides of both and now no more scratching! I will NEVER be without this wonderful product. I wish it came in gallon jugs. It doesn't smell like apples and I didn't notice any fragrance...but the cats did!

Great for young puppies,

This has worked like a charm for the two retriever puppies we've had. It doesn't stain or have much of an odor (to humans), but has worked very well to stop chewing on household surfaces. It seems to wear off of fabrics in a couple of days, but lasts longer on smooth surfaces.
The spray doesn't work well on hands or clothing at our house. Also, several friends have reported that their older dogs actually appear to like the taste, so it obviously doesn't work for every dog. I suspect it works best for stopping a puppy chewing habit from forming rather than breaking a well-established habit, but it's inexpensive enough to seem worth trying even in those situations.

Works Great,

This product works really great and doesn't seem to stain or anything. Our Cockapoo puppy is in her chewing phase and we were having all kinds of problems with her chewing things. So we bought this and it works well. She sometimes even makes this cute little whine when we spray things complaining that we're taking her fun away.
I've found that for things like leashes and shoes that rub against other things all day this wears off quickly and you need to spray them every 2-4 days, but for things like cords, cables and the bottoms of chairs I haven't had to respray as the only thing rubbing against them and wearing off the spray is the puppy who's no longer doing so.

This product is great, I recommended it to anyone that is having a problem with their pet biting & chewing. From the time I received the spray my dog hated it & within a week she stopped biting. Good Luck!

Put a quick end to destructive behavior!,

Been watching this product for the longest time, but just managed to stop by my local Petsmart and pick it up. I wish I had gotten it MONTHS ago! I've got a 10 month old Pomeranian who loved to chew on everything. Shoes, walls, furniture, cords, doorstops, you name it. I sprayed this on everything he's ever chewed and just like that, he stopped chewing. One inquisitive lick, after I had already sprayed, was all it took. Out of curiosity, I sprayed underneath my couch thoroughly as well. Because my little guy liked to make that his hideaway when he had forbidden chew toys. The spray is keeping him from underneath the couch! I'm pretty excited because now I don't have to wonder what kind of mischeif he is up to when I can't see or reach him. I'm not sure how long it'll be before it wears off (or if it will ever) but I wouldn't mind having to spray under there every few months. I am thoroughly pleased!
**Word to the wise, the pet store employee advised that color of some fabrics could be affected by the spray.

Stopped mouthing after 3 sprays,

Our purpose in trying this spray was our new addition...a 5-month-old lab/newfoundland mix puppy. When she got excited, she would open her mouth and put it on us, not really clamp down or anything, but you'd feel her teeth. Not a good habit to get into. We tried re-directing her behavior, ignoring her, and even flicking her in the nose to get her to stop. None of these things worked. I went out and got this spray. The next time she persisted to "mouth", I shot a small squirt into her mouth. She hated it. She instantly stopped and went to lay down in her bed. After doing this 2 more times, we don't even have to spray it. We just show her the bottle and she stops. Great stuff.

Best product of it's kind so far...,
By
This review is from: Grannick's Bitter Apple for Dogs Spray Bottle, 16 Ounces (Misc.)
... I have tried a few similar products so far. Bitter Apple, Bitter End, Phooey and Bitter Yuck. Both of my dogs do not care at all for the taste of Bitter Apple, while they both LOVE the taste of Bitter Yuck and Phooey. The only negative of Bitter Apple, is it doesn't appear to be an outdoor product and therefor has to be re-applied with great frequency.
I am still looking for the perfect solution, but Bitter Apple appears to be the closest thing to it. 4/5 due to it not being particularly well suited for outdoor use.

Bought this so my dog would stop licking her paws excessively. It didn't work, she actually seems to enjoy the taste of Bitter Apple.

My dog was eating TV remotes left and right. We tried putting them away but as home theaters take 12 dozen remotes to operate these days we'd forget and then our puppy would destroy one. I bought this as a back-up plan. Turns out he enjoys the flavor, I caught him licking it off the remote while wagging his tail. He's a beast of a dog though.
