Granny Brand was a society woman from London who almost single handedly transformed the culture of the "Mountains of Death" is southern India by her faithful and persistent medical and evangelistic work. This book is on the recommended reading list for the 250,000 members of Bible Study Fellowship

Granny Brand is an inspiring story of a pioneer missionary to the southern mountain people of India. She went alone to India in 1912 and met her missionary husband there and they taught the people, not only about Jesus, but how to plant, build, administered medical treatment, such as it was at that time. After her husband's death she stayed on alone for another 45 years, dying at age 94.

Her story can serve as encouragement for people who are not only missionaries but living life in everyday circumstances. I can't recommend it too highly.

The book is in great condition. Very satisfactory, thank you. Replaces the one I borrowed from a friend and didn't use gently enough.

Granny Brand - a wonderfully written bio of an amazing woman who gave her life in service to the Lord. Her love for the Indian hill tribes and her amazing determination and strength will be an encouragement to anyone who reads her story.
