5.0 out of 5 stars Granny's Quilts:Vintage Quilts of the '30s Made New for Toda
This is the best book on the subject of 1930's reproduction quilts! I have just about every book published about '30s quilts, but this one is my favorite.

Very clear instructions with each quilt and usually 2 sizes to chose from. Great Photos too!

I highly recommend this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too easy
Love other books by this author. Was disappointed in this one. Only wanted it for a specific quilt.

This is the best book I have found for making 1930's reproduction quilts!
I love the quilts and the very clear instruction. The patterns are all wonderful and something that I would acutally make. Mostly pieced patterns and usually two size options. I have bought every book on the subject, but none are as good as Darlene Zimmermans'! You can't go wrong with this book!

Can't wait for her Granny Decor book to be published!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book for the 30's lovers, March 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Granny Quilts: Vintage Quilts of the 30s Made New for Today (Paperback)
This book is fantastic. Full of beautifully written dedications and notes on the history of 30's quilts. The 19 patterns are traditional and not modern interpretations. There are notes on colours and how to choose your fabrics. Worth the cost of postage and waiting time for delivery to Australia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational for '30s fans!, November 10, 2006

I never get tired of looking through this quilt book, and that's more than can be said about many others I own. But even beyond that, I have already made one quilt (Peek-a-Boo Baskets) from it, and have expectations that I will go on to make make two of the others as well. There are so many classics in here, you can hardly wait to try them. That's evidence that the book is truly inspirational!-- not only loving the pictures, but going on to actually make something from the book. The patterns and instructions were perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous for 1930's prints, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Granny Quilts: Vintage Quilts of the 30s Made New for Today (Paperback)
Like all quilters we need a cat's nine lives to do all we imagine inquilting. This book has great patterns for Aunty's, clothsline, feedsacks etc. If you like those prints this book is a must. I have quite a few books on quilting. I collect books like fabrics (not quite). I love my library of books and fabrics but I am fussy. Most of the books I have bought are thoise that have been given 5-4 star ratings when I am looking for specific content.

The quilts in this book are so beautiful. Since I love vintage prints, I really wanted to get this book as there are many quilts that I want to make. The only thing that I don't like is that a special type of implement is needed for these quilts. I'm sure it's not that expensive. I just don't like buying new things in order to make the quilts. I read through the book several times to find out if there is another way to do the designs, but I couldn't find it. Otherwise the book is beautiful.

This review is from: Granny Quilts: Vintage Quilts of the 30s Made New for Today (Paperback)
I saw in these quilt patterns many of the quilts I recall from my great-grandparents home when I was a child. Great job pulling together these patterns and using retro fabrics to copy the look.
