Book Description

September 2002
Granton Manor, set in Scotland in 1996 amidst the Grampian Mountains, the fast flowing Spey River with excellent salmon fishing, explores the secrets and hidden agendas of the women of the estate. Seventeen year old Mary Beth and her mother, Elaine, live in a cottage on the manor under the servitude of Lady Lillian Grant - the stylish, yet cold and controlling mistress of the Manor. Amidst the peaceful idyll is the burgeoning yet forbidden romance between Mary Beth and Bobby, Lady Grant’s son. A tale of secrets and fears, love lost and found, Granton Manor weaves a compelling web of intrigue and deception.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Book!!!, October 31, 2002
By
This review is from: Granton Manor (Paperback)
I just finished reading this novel and I loved it! I especially enjoyed the relationship between the mother and daughter. The way they interacted and evolved through the story reminded me of the relationship between myself and my daughter. The author's style of writing is perfect for the theme of the book and I look forward to reading more of her novels.

Smooth reading! The author's particular attention to detail immediately hooks you into the daily lives of those who occupy Granton Manor. You can easily visualize being there and experiencing the little power plays that go on between the occupants. I enjoyed watching the "secret" unfold.
