5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding quality
This mix of frankincense and myrrh is an excellent value for the price. It burns cleanly, smokes well and the fragrances are easy to identify. We used it for midnight mass this year and throughout the Christmas season. I'm very particular about incense and this met my standard.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very dissapointed
This is a very low quality incense. The frankincense has a bad strong lemon scent and the myrrh doesn't really smell like anything. I got a couple of huge pieces of myrrh some big pieces of frankincense and a lot of powder. Overall very dissapointed with it, not worth it at all.

The aroma is beautiful (can't say I like all the smoke though).
A little goes a long way for sure!
Be sure to purchase the charcoal to use with this product.

I bought the incense to fill little silk bags and give to the children in our church for Epiphany - the celebration of the visit of the 3 kings to the Baby Jesus. Big hit! The mixture between the two incense was good (about 50/50) and the size of the pieces were good as well. Shipping was fast. Very pleased with this item and will order again next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resin is definately the way to go!, December 27, 2009

I purchased some Frankincense and Myrrh incense in both resin and cone form. The cones just smelled like smoke and were much less cost efficient. I think Frank & Myrrh is an acquired smell. If not for the Biblical ties, I'm not sure I'd care for it that much myself. But, it is growing on me. Unlike the cones we purchased, you can really smell the distinct aromatic Frank & Myrrh fragrance produced by the resin. I'm new to burning incense, and haven't invested in charcoal or any special burning apparatus. The recomendation to heat the resin on low heat on the stove seems to work well, without producing smoke, unlike the cones. It also lasts far longer. Where one cone smolders for about 15 minutes, resin on low heat in a cast-iron skillet will burn for hours. That said, I liked warming the resin even more. I didn't invest in an exotic $50 resin warmer with variable temperature control. Rather, I experimented with just a cheap, $5 candle warmer, sold at Hobby Lobby, and put the resin in a metal (not aluminum) can. After the initial couple hours, warming it isn't quite as pungent as burning, but it lasts for days, maybe even weeks, depending on frequency of use. If you like resin incense, for $5 it's worth giving it a try.

Even though I am not the biggest fan of the smoke it produces, which is a necessary evil for this type of incense, I can faithfully say I received and got exactly what I ordered. You may buy from this company with confidence.

It's okay. Careful, package includes mixed frankincense and myrrh and also some wood stuff. For the price however, it's a fair purchase. Would I make a second order of this product, no. I'd rather order specific incense so I know exactly what's in the packaging.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only the small pieces seemed worth it...., December 29, 2011

When I first got this it was great, the smaller pieces melted nicely, cleanly and smelled like the perfume of frankincense and myrrh! As I got into the larger pieces the quality was not just bad but stank. Some actually melted quickly with no smell at all, other large pieces hardly melted at all, they simply and truly burned(blackened on one site) smelling like someone left something on the stove and forgot about it. I'm pretty sure I will try another brand. What is really awful though, is that I have so much of this stuff left, with absolutely no use for it.

Reminds me of Christmas and church. You really need the charcoal going before you sprinkle some on and sometimes you need to stoke the fire so to speak but the mix has a great smell.

I have purchased resin locally in the past & thought I'd give this a try. This is significantly cheaper than the local product. However the local product is much stronger. I suppose you get what you pay for.
