This was originally shorter, and an EP, included with the 2nd album "WOW" released, I believe, in 1967. I have read some poor reviews of the original and shorter version, but personally I enjoyed this. It is just nice, basic simple blues jamming... albeit from the 60's and one can close their eyes and imagine a smoky underground bar with these guys jamming somewhere in the Haight. I like.

I am a jazz guitarist, that like most guys of my generation, started off playing blues. As a kid, I wore this album out (of course, I had the vinyl version). As purely a listening experience, it doesn't merit much attention, considering the mountain of classic blues CD's you could buy. About 1972, I was learning a few B.B.King licks, and jamming with this album gave a very nice opportunity to expand that vocabulary. The album is essentially long, extended grooves, which are perfect platforms for jamming. Jerry Miller is a nice guitarist, who played a Gibson L-5 plugged into an old 4x10 Bassman. His tone was on the jazzer side of things, though with plenty of Bassman grit and feedback. For anyone getting into blues guitar, I can't imagine that they wouldn't get a lot of play from this one, purely as a jamming resource. My 2 star rating is as a listening experience. As a jamming, playalong resource, this one merits 4 or 5. As a kid getting into guitar, this was a top of the heap album.
