While I was not familiar with any of the artists in this collection, I found many of the stories really entertaining. The tone of the selections span a pretty wide array of intents, ranging from seemingly direct reinterpretations of classic creation myths to cartoon joke strips about religion. My favorite pieces in this collection however are those which attempt to create their own original creation stories and capture the resounding archetypical force that is embedded at the heart of the most memorable of myths.
As all books I've seen from Nobrow Press, this is absolutely beautiful and as a book itself, it is truely an 'objet d'art'. The artwork has a consistent look throughout and captures the sort of printmaking aesthetic that I have seen in previous Nobrow books.
