1.0 out of 5 stars Only for the beginners., March 28, 1998
By A Customer
What a disappointment! The"trick" to this is NOT buying the book. The information is extremely weak, layout is poor and the price is excessive, even though it is low. The layout is spread far too thin. With text size that would appeal to the visually challenged, its 144 pages that could have been assembled into half its size.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Idea & Resource Book for Beginners!, June 28, 1998
By A Customer
Graphics and design play integral roles in the development of Websites. The manner in which graphic images are incorporated and how Websites are designed are important factors in effectively communicating on the Internet. Graphic Design Tricks & Techniques offers readers over 300 creative design, printing and production ideas that can be directly applied to the designing and promoting of Websites.

The book is organized into chapters related to graphic design areas such as layout, photography, printing, computer graphics, multimedia, and scanning. Novice Website designers will appreciate the ideas offered concerning the creative use of scanners and using computer graphic images. Designers will also develop an eye for design and layout, another important factor in the process of designing Websites.

Although this book has an appeal to a much broader range of readers, it is clearly applicable to Website designers as well. This book can also serve as a great collection of tips, tricks, and techniques to promote any number of products and services one has to offer. This book is particularly ideal for those readers operating on a tight budget.

Readers will notice that a number of people offered their own ideas which were incorporated into the book. Additionally, sources are cited for further reading and gathering of information, products, and services. The large 8 1/2" by 11" format makes for easy reading. This is an excellent idea and resource book for the beginner. It is worth the cost!
