Many of the poor reviews that came in on this book were from designers looking for new and clever ideas. While this book may not have met their needs, I find that for anyone looking to understand some of the basic concepts it is a great book to reference. Well organized. I like the way that Laura Lemay presents the information.

I don't know what I thought when I bought this book. This is a book for those who haven't the knowledge or ability to create a website; Web Design 101. This is not so much a "how to" as it is a basic briefing on design and structure. While the examples are mildly interesting, you don't see any code or explanation of how or why certain things were done. Experience is definitely a drawback here. If you're looking for effects or techniques, keep looking. If you need a simple guide to design, it may be worth a look. And as for the CD, it's almost worthless. My advice is to look at it carefully in a bookstore before you buy, or you'll be sadly disappointed

A while ago, when this book was in its first edition, my neighbor lent me this book. I never really looked at it until one snowy day when I couldnt leave the house. I read it, and with in hours I made my first website! I know run a web design company ... , and am working on launching a start-up. I owe it all to this book!

I have all of Lauras books and this by far is one of the best. Covers a-z of the essentials. Highly recommended

Graphics and Web Page Design is one of the most worthless books on any computer related subject I have ever picked up, yes this includes any of the original software manuals from Lotus or MicroSoft.

This book doesn't teach you much about the web or graphics or about web page design.

all I learned from this book was not to buy any more books written by Laura Lemay or published by Sams Net.

The cd is worse than useless, with out of date shareware

Lemay's Workshop series is proof positive that garbage sells! Well Lemay's name may sell books, but when you keep pushing bad books you are destined for judgment day and today is judgment day...I will never buy another Lemay book. No one in my family will ever buy another Lemay book. No one I know will ever buy another Lemay book

This has got to be a waste of both good shelf space and paper!! And also my time having to fight to get the credit for this really rotten book back on my Visa! NEVER AGAIN!!
