Book Description

November 2005
Britain's undisputed wrestling icon has put together a hilarious look back at the bizarre world of professional wrestling in its golden age (1960 to 1987). Meet 30 world-famous wrestling personalities from Britain, Europe, and America in fascinating, anecdote- and photo-packed bios, featuring cross-dressing hulks, crotch-grabbing moves, sequined shorts, monstrous memorabilia, and 420-pound men in leotards. Try out the flamboyant, fully illustrated, fighting moves like superplexes, body splashes, pile-drivers, and flying clotheslines, and prove that anyone can put the showmanship back into self defense. Pure nostalgia and the ultimate book on the subject, it's a take-down gift for die-hard fans.

About the Author

Kendo Nagasaki is a masked samurai who has been a professional wrestler for over 40 years. He nearly represented his country at Olympic level but a mysterious life changing experience led to him to live the life of a deceased samurai warrior. A man of mystery, Kendo has been painted by Sir Peter Blake and could be described as a British institution. He was the subject of a BBC2 ARENA documentary and recorded their highest ever audience figures. Dickie Davies was the highly-respected presenter of ITV's WORLD OF SPORT. Famed for his 'badger' white-steaked hair and smooth style, he is fondly remembered and has established an enormous retro-cult status.
