Great Submissions For Coaches To Build Drills To,
By
This review is from: The Grappler's Book of Strangles and Chokes (Paperback)
This book offers outstanding ways into several high ratio of success finishing moves. It builds on Shingitai Jujitsu's methodology of instruction where one must first close the gap, next gain dominate position/control, and then end the fight. Steve teaches different ways from different controlling positions into different submissions. You must study the text, develop drills, and use the drills. This is definitely a coaching/instructional manual.

Another great book from Steve Scott,
By Erik (Greenwood, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Grappler's Book of Strangles and Chokes (Paperback)
Mr. Scott has taken his years of coaching experience and written another easy to use, informative, text. Much like his Armlock Encyclopedia, this book breaks down each technique into easy steps. The chokes in this book will help everyone who is interested; from the average, couch riding, UFC wannabe, to the serious groundfighting technician.

Mr. Scott's detailed description of each move and pre-move makes the science of Shime waze seem simple. The techniques are not unusual but are very, very effective!

Very well done and comprehensive book. I found a lot of information in it. Perhaps a bigger format would have made the picture more usable

An excellent book on the technique and science of putting an opponent to sleep. Whether you want to do it with a gi (jacket, collar, etc) or no gi (shirt, bare chest, etc) this book has you covered. Very comprehensive and highly informative.

I bought this book thinking it was going to teach me chokes. By that I mean for self-defense. Instead half of these chokes you need to be wearing full Martial Arts clothing. It just keeps going on and on. There was maybe like 1 or 2 useful chokes and maybe 1 good chapter. I wouldn't recomend this. This is for a Martial Arts dojo.
