The Chairman of the Common Sense Club delivers in this book that walks through the major challenges the country faces and offers concrete steps every American can take to make a difference. Scott also shares moving anecdotes and takes the reader inside the corridors of power. This is a must read both for grassroots activists and for anyone ready to become one.

I obtained this book during a lively debate between Mary Matlin and James Carville, where Scott Hennen served as mediator. The problem was, he did less mediating and more taking over Mary's side, which was pretty unprofessional and made me dislike him quite a bit.

As if that weren't bad enough, he plugged his book every 6 minutes, acting like his writing was a gift from God. He gave out tons of free copies, pre-signed (because naturally everybody wants his book and autograph) and so here I was stuck with a book I didn't want from a pompous, jerk of an author.

To be nice, I read it, and I'm very sorry I did. First off, it's insanely biased. He uses offensive language to talk about women in the reproductive health business, and acts like a 4 year old who doesn't get his way.

His pompous, holier-than-thou attitude shows through his writing, but I have one question I'd really like to ask him: "why do I care what you have to say?" He writes as if everyone in the nation is hanging on his every word, when in reality, hardly anybody knows him, and a lot of those who do know him (or of him) share the same opinion as me: no one cares.

I'm not surprised this book is on sale - it will need to be discounted a lot more before people actually purchase it, I think.

At this point, I'm using the book as a doorstop, because when I tried to sell it, no one wanted it - even though I offered it for $1.

This is literally the worst thing I've ever read. And I'm using literally correctly. This man is conceited with nothing to back up his high opinion of himself. He touts his ideas as being "common sense" but lacks any logical reasoning. He attacks big government but fails to recognize that the last time we had no solid "big government" and no federally mandated taxes during the time of the Articles of Confederation, our nation was in shambles.

All this book is is an unnecessary attack on our government that is backed by no logical thought and merely looks to convince Americans that a time of minimal federal power and minimal taxation would be best for our country, despite overwhelming evidence that it would destroy us.

This book is worthless and provides no common sense, despite what this ignorant and conceited man says.
