sure to offend those who don't get it,
By "perryink2" (castle rock) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grass: Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture (1999 Film) (Audio CD)
Yes, grass.... this soundtrack to the documentary film makes hay of those who would deny others the opportunity to partake. Equal parts comedy, pot-friendly music and education, the three-pronged attack rarely fails, what with the cross-generational sampling of top-notch tunes (Cab Calloway, Small Faces, Devos Mark Mothersbaugh, Peter Tosh, J.J. Cale, etc.) stitched with dusty gigglers from 1950s-era U.S. Government Propaganda reels. Sure to offend those who still dont get it and bring smiles to the faces of those who do.

One of the best soundtracks I've heard!,

I stumbled onto this CD and knew I had to have it. It is, without a doubt, one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. With music ranging from the 1930's through present day, it gives great insight (and lots of humor) into the battle to legalize marijuana. The verbal excerpts alone make this CD well worth the money! They're hilarious! Trust me--if you're open minded, interested in learning a little about our country's history on the subject and want to hear some great music, this is the CD for you!

Grass,a funny, entertaining compilation with a message!,
By Charles Frazier (Sydney, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grass: Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture (1999 Film) (Audio CD)
You've probably never seen the movie "Grass" and with the limited distribution it is receiving, you might never see it. This is a true shame because it is a film with a powerful message and the message is that for all the anti-drug hype through which we now struggle, Marijuana use is not only not new, but it's use has been a catalyst for artist and the general population for countless years. See the video when it becomes available and at the very least, get the soundtrack and enjoy these funny and often thought provoking songs.
