The Grassblade Light is a sequel to the book-length poem Stubborn Grew. Both books are part of a 4-volume project titled Forth of July - an attempt to carry forward the tradition of the American long poem. Grassblade follows the orphic lead of Stubborn's Bluejay : a "jay" transposing into Juliet, July, and Jubilee.
