5.0 out of 5 stars A Terrific Product
I was very skeptical about this product but thought I'd give it a try because we use our grill very frequently and it gets very dirty. 2.0 out of 5 stars Where's the steam?
As my grill heated, I filled the reservoir with water and lemon juice. However, when I tried to clean the grill little or no water came through the grill brush. The brush is quite sturdy, so the grill was a little cleaner after using the brush even though no steam appeared on the heated grill. I am very disappointed in this product.

I was very skeptical about this product but thought I'd give it a try because we use our grill very frequently and it gets very dirty. I added 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to the water reservoir before adding the water. To test it, I tried cleaning a section with the Grate Chef without pressing the water button (i.e., like a regular wire-bristled grill brush) and then tried the rest using the button to add water as I cleaned. The difference was pretty amazing. It cleaned the grill beautifully in no time.
I suppose you could try using a damp rag and a regular brush but that would be very messy. The bristles seem to be of good quality and I expect them to last awhile.

I ordered this product from Amazon, got in in the mail a week later. The first time I used it, the bristles started falling out and nothing would spray out of it. Went straight to the trash. That was a quick waste of $15.

The Grate Chef Steaming Grill Brush is a great gift for any backyard griller. So easy to use and cleans the grill grates with steam. Follow up with their Grill Wipes and none of your food will stick to the metal. The perfect steak or chicken any time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grate Chef works, September 16, 2008

I originally started to purchase the Big Daddy grill cleaner, but many reviews of that product said that it did not work as good as the Grate Chef, which I ordered. I was quite pleased. Our gas grill had never really been cleaned in the year that we owned it and the Grate Chef did the job quite well. I would recommend the suggestion of using two tablespoons of lemon juice with the water which seems to help. I would definitley recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Brush that Steams!, June 26, 2008
This review is from: Grate Chef 501-1100 Steaming Grill Brush (Lawn & Patio)
It's amazing that just by adding water and a little lemon juice how effective this brush is. I will never use any other brush. I highly recommend this product. I also use the Grill Wipes from this company. When I pair the two products together, I get great results. We are frequent grillers and GrateChef's products keep my grill looking new!

This Item worked great the first time I used it. The second time, I refilled it with water and a little lemon juice and prepared to clean my grill. Nothing sprays out. And the unit doesn't seem to have any easy way of cleaning or clearing the apparent stoppage. In the future, I will just use a good wire brush and a spray bottle with water and a little lemon juice in it. Don't buy this unreliable junk.

Absolutly the best grate cleaning brush I ever purchased. Just get your grate good and hot and brush away with the water and steam. Use either before you cook or right after and you will be surprised with the wonderful clean-up. Good Grill'n.
