I could identify so much with her descriptions of feelings, scenes of everyday life, and expressed love of family. It is a collection of someone who truly appreciates the simple pleasures of life, who knows the great value in just simply living. Thank you Pat for a wonderful little book. I hope there is more to come.

"Patricia Guilfoil Ellis' poems, clear and direct, give us a world as fresh as a child's. Their ease and their transparency of language let the sunshine of deep being fall on lost worlds that live inside all of us. Receiving open-heartedly such joys as spring's coming, the pungency of the elders of her childhood, the delight in Kentucky farm life at mid-century, these poems revive and restore pleasures we'd forgotten we knew. Here is a new voice, a wise voice, which speaks to our hearts." (Jane Gentry, author of _A Garden in Kentucky_ and _Portrait of the Artist as a White Pig_ and Kentucky Poet Laureate 2007 and 2008)

"A sheaf of engaging poems honed during a life shaped by the beauty and bounty of Kentucky." (Ron Ellis, author of _Cogan's Woods_ and _Of Woods & Waters_)

"Not since 1938 has there been such a find. In that year, art collector Louis J. Caldor spotted Grandma Moses' paintings in a drugstore window and recognized them as masterful expressions of the American spirit. Now the world of poetry has its own Grandma Moses in the person of Patricia J. G. Ellis." (Dr. Robert T. Rhode, author of _The Steam Tractor Encyclopedia_ [with John F. Spalding], _The Harvest Story: Recollections of Old-Time Threshermen_, and _Classic American Steamrollers 1871-1935 Photo Archive_ [with Raymond L. Drake] and Professor of English at Northern Kentucky University)
