The feeder was a bit smaller than I was expecting. Appears to be a bit small for a cardinal. It is well built and feels sturdy. The suction cups seem strong. Time will tell how well they hold.

I decided to add an extended perch, to accommodate slightly larger birds, as well as multiple small birds. I used pieces of a wire hanger and a pine branch. See the photo in the customer photos section.

All-in-all, I really like the feeder so far.

The box that the bird feeder cam in was packaged really nice and had the cool little gnome dude on the top. There is also a nice little gnome etched into to window side of the bird feeder.

The bottom suction cups come not in the bird feeder. I guess for packaging reasons. I wish they came already in somehow because they are a bit of a pain to get through the holes. I ended up using a needle nose pliers. The good thing is those things aren't going anywhere now that I got them in. All in all it wasn't that hard to do and I love everything else about the bird feeder. It is a good solid piece of acrylic that would be hard to break.

My wife's first impression was that there was no way this thing was going to stay on the window. She thought once the sun hit it and it was full of bird seed that it would fall off. I have had the bird feeder for over a month now and it has never once fallen off. I took it off one time to clean it and it was stuck on there as good as the first day I stuck it.

I bought this bird feeder so that my kids could watch the birds up close and they love it. I live in a track home neighborhood so it took a couple of days for the birds to find it but now that they have I have to refill it every few days. The birds make my kids laugh because they fight over who owns the bird feeder all day.

I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a window bird feeder.

I would recommend this Grateful Gnome window feeder. I ordered 2 of these and they are very very nice. Obviously you must clean surface well before applying suction cups <- common sense. Anyone who complains about feeders falling off their window under normal bird use, did not prepare or adhere feeder adequately to begin with. And of course if something falls to the ground, expect it to break if it hits a hard surface. The Grateful Gnome Window Feeder is a very high quality window feeder. I bought this style/design because of #1 the unobstructed view, #2 sleek rain cover design, #3 trough type basin so messy birds waste less. Go ahead and shop around. You'll see other designs that are not so rain friendly or very easy to fill. This one is a smart buy!

My family and I ordered on of these unique acrylic feeders and set it up so easily. Within a few minutes we had birds feeding from it. We saw 3 different types of birds that we never see around the yard. The kids love just sitting at the window watching. Great product for a great price for all bird watchers!

Blackbirds and squirrels continued to eat the bluebirds' food despite all my efforts to dissuade them. An airsoft pistol, raps on the window, pepper on the seed, a special bluebird feeder, and even a remote control doorbell couldn't deter the hungry pests. In desperation I finally decided to try an window feeder. I chose this model because of previous reviews and the feeder's size and design.

The feeder only requires the installation of the suction cups, not the easiest procedure. Once mounted on the window, it is very secure.
To my amazement birds found it within half an hour. Since it's been up, the feeder has been visited by: goldfinches, house finches, chickadees, wrens, nuthatches, titmouses, and bluebirds. A large dove sat on the roof; the suction cups held. Poor dove was too large to be able to access the food.

So far we've rarely had more than one bird at a time using the feeder. Maybe that will change over time. The feeder is terrific for watching birds close up but not as good for photographing them because of the large suction cups.

Knock on wood, we've had no black birds (starlings, grackles) or squirrels get to the new window feeder yet. One squirrel has been studying it though.

Bottom line - We are happy with this feeder and are keeping our fingers crossed that the pests stay away and content themselves with the other feeders in the yard.

My order originally arrived with a small but critical part missing - the little hook that attaches the top suction piece to the birdhouse roof. I was SO annoyed! Amazon was great in that it refunded my purhase price when I had to go through the hassle of returning it. BUT, on top of that, Grateful Gnome was WONDERFUL in that it sent me a new one (even with extra suction cups!) at no cost. After this experience, I definitely recommend this merchant. I haven't hung this feeder on the window yet but I'll update my review after I do.

I'm surprised that people have had issues with the feeder falling off. I've had mine up for over a month, and it has survived high temperatures in direct sunlight, violent rainstorms, and high winds with no problems. I did clean the window before mounting the feeder, so perhaps that's the issue.

No birds, however, but that's the fault of living on the third floor of a busy urban street with no trees around.
