Rafferty is a superb guitarist, but not just a technician. His playing demonstrates considerable power and precision, but there's a lot of emotion here, too.
I also have to compliment him on the personal side: I bought a second copy of this album as a birthday present for a family member, and had it shipped directly to him. Unfortunately, I forgot to have it gift-wrapped and didn't include a birthday greeting. The recipient sent it back -- at which point I found I had purchased it from the artist himself! Rafferty not only helped me sort out the (somewhat) comical situation, but also sent a bonus disc! How great is that?
