This movie was so very sad, I actually cried, and I never cry watching anything.
Practically left as orphans in war torn Japan, Seita quickly learns that he has to do everything he can to preserve his life and the life of his young sister.
I think this movie is one of the best anime movies ever made and that I have ever seen.

Well made, very sad though. I don't recommend it to the faint of heart.
For people who are not afraid to see the war from the side of the Japanese civilians, watch this... Read more

|for all the people who think this movie is too 'revisionist'||
I totally agree. I was profoundly moved by this movie due to the fact that these are CHILDREN, and regardless of what side they are on, they should never have to experience these types of tragedies. In the end, no matter who won or lost, both sides lose in the end.

|This isn't by Miyazaki||
Thank you for this note. I was led to believe it was animated by Miyazaki! (I am a great fan of his work) I still want to see it, but it's still nice to know what to expect.
